Nawlins...Who Dat

I recently took a wee trip down to NOLA for a bachelorette party.  The city was amaaazzzzing.  What history....spooky and sooo old.  Loved the architecture and iron gates around the verandas....put up to keeps spirits away!

We went on an Undead Tour lead by an interesting guide who spoke with a NY accent but claimed it was because of the teachings when she was young by the nuns from Brooklyn - apparently there were no other teachers available to go to NOLA at that time except for the Catholic nuns....that's scary in itself!! haha We learned about Voodoo-Whodoo...albeit our guide claimed it was all good :)  Ummm....Apparently spirits travel in an orb to get from one place or time.  Interestingly enough I captured some orbs in a few photos.

The guide drew a voodoo symbol on the road as the story about the building above was haunted by two cross lovers....You can actually see a couple sets of eyes looking out a window....spooky...could it be the two lovers??

During our weekend, I found an interesting old door and a beautiful gate....I wonder if this door was from the 1700's?  Could that be Voodoo markings on the door??

Saw gators, icky spiders, ate frog legs, had beignets and even was handled by something undead....

And yes there was shopping to be done!  Even found a French Art Market on Frenchmen Street that was open until 1:00 am! Can you say Happy....

All and all, NOLA was an excellent adventure with a fabulous group of ladies!!

Keep following me....new jewels to be posted soon!!
Au Revoir mon amies!!
